Description

Nogard is a Minecraft network that features Skyblock, Survival, Prison Mines, and Parkour. It's been around since 2015, and although it's still fairly small, it has matured quite a bit since it first started. During my time running the server, I've learned about creating Minecraft Spigot plugins using Java, configuration files, how to make a website with the NamelessMC software, how to set up and customize a CraftingStore site, how to moderate an online community, and more. The network utilizes many different social media platforms to engage the community, such as Twitter, Discord, and PlugDJ.

The server recently received a complete overhaul for the Minecraft 1.16 update. Everything was created and configured from scratch, including maps built by my friend BucketMuncher, some plugins created from scratch using Java, and many other plugins I found on the Spigot website and configured to my liking. I modified the source code of a few open-source plugins and the changes have since been added to the official releases of those plugins. I used BungeeCord to control the network, which taught me how to connect multiple servers together in a single secure network and is a huge improvement over the previous single-server setup.
